Well they are certainly topical, and I suppose you can determine the level of strength behind the meme. Will have to look into this in more detail. the memegenerator doesn't seem to work but I can see there are other sites to visit. Thanks for opening my eyes to another way to interface with my potential customers.

Re: Inbound Marketing Memes

Thanks, Bill! Until earlier this year the Places team had an office here in Madison and I had a contact there that was pretty helpful. Since then, they cut Places from the mix here and repurposed their efforts on Google Plus.

In the end, like most things with Google, services outside of their core search, advertising and social initiatives are red-headed step children and not a priority for them ... and it shows.

Re: Hide Your Google Places Address Or Risk Invisibility

Google Places is the sole judge of how you meet customers. It deleted my company simply because of one report from "anonymous" that we had closed and did not take any steps to confirm this even though it had our address, email address, and phone number. Then as we tried to prove to Google Places that we were still in business, it kept insisting that customers did not come to our business and we have been in a two month struggle to get our listing back and prove how our operation works. In just the last few days, I have found that hundreds of other small businesses have also been treated like this by Google. I will survive this, but I feel sorry for the many companies that will be wiped out by Google. It should be noted, that it uses the word "spam" to describe almost anything that it wants and has no good definition for the word. Its reviewers will delete a listing claiming that it has "spam" but does not communicate this to the small business and explain what the problem is or how to deal with it. Google just punches a few buttons and the business is deleted.

Re: What’s a Facebook “Like” Really Worth?

No doubt, @AntonStetner - Thanks for the comment.

Re: What’s a Facebook “Like” Really Worth?

Lol. They even added this new section to their Pinterest 101 help page in response to the uproar:

"Right now, we are focused on growing Pinterest and making it more valuable. To fund these efforts, we have taken outside investment from entrepreneurs and venture capitalists. In the past, we've tested a few different approaches to making money such as affiliate links. We might also try adding advertisements, but we haven't done this yet.

Even though making money isn't our top priority right now, it is a long term goal. After all, we want Pinterest to be here to stay!"

But you're right, it's hard to tell in the end if Skimlinks are in use or not because of the nature of Skimlinks' technology ... source links are not altered by their JavaScript.

Cheers,
